Psychomotricity in Spain
Initially, the influences of the Spanish Psychomotricity came from France in the fields of special education. Later on, it developed in the educational and therapeutic areas.

Since 1960's
Spanish Psychomotricity
1960’s – Psychomotricity is brought to Spain, mostly influenced by France.
1973 – For the first time, Psychomotricity is added into the training curriculum of the Preschool Degree specialization in the Basic General Education from the Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Late 1980’s – Some Universities, both publics and privates, beginning to offer postgraduate and master’s degrees with their own qualifications.
1992 – The subject “Psychomotor Development” is considered compulsory in Early Childhood Education teaching studies in all universities in the Spanish State.
2014 – FAPee organizes a meeting in Barcelona, bringing together university faculty from all regions, in order to present the minimum curriculum established by the European Forum of Psychomotricity and to discuss its potential application in current training courses.
From 1981
Psychomotricity journals
1981 – The CITAP foundation publishes the first Psychomotricity Journal.
1991 – The Luzaro School of Psychomotricity in Bergara releases the first issue of Cuadernos de Psicomotricidad, and the journal continues to be published to this day.
1996 – The journal Entre Líneas, specializing in Psychomotricity, was first published by the Asociación Profesional de Psicomotricistas (APP).

1991 – Various associations in Psychomotricity begin to emerge.
1998 – These associations unite under a single umbrella association: FAPee is created.

European Forum of Psychomotricity
The European Forum of Psychomotricity (EFP) is created,
with Spain as a founding member, represented by Pedro Pablo Berruezo.
1999
1st Psychomotricity State Congress
The 1st Psychomotricity State Congress, organized by FAPee and titled “Psychomotor Development and Intervention”, is held in Barcelona.
2018 – The 6th Psychomotricity State Congress, organized by FAPee and titled “Psychomotricity: better to prevent”, is held in Madrid.

5th European Congress of Psychomotricity
The 5th European Congress of Psychomotricity, hosted by FAPee and Catalan universities in collaboration with the European Forum of Psychomotricity (EFP), takes place in Barcelona, under the theme “Different faces of Psychomotricity”.
